REGIONS · UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

AI campuses designed for the United Arab Emirates.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai are two coastal cities: summer there is very hot, the air humid and salt-laden. Nordik designs campuses for them that cool without consuming water and generate their own power on site.

Energy

Natural gas dominates power generation; nuclear (the Barakah plant) and solar (the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park) are growing.

Design levers

  • Direct-to-chip liquid cooling
  • Closed-loop dry coolers sized for extreme heat
  • Reinforced filtration against dust and salt air

A qualitative reading, to be refined site by site. Sovereignty and sustainability

CONTEXT

What frames a campus here.

  • National strategy

The UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 sets the course, alongside the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 for electricity.

  • Data and sovereignty

Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 protects personal data; the financial free zones of Dubai (DIFC) and Abu Dhabi (ADGM) have their own rules. A campus in the country keeps data under the jurisdiction you choose.

  • Water

Fresh water is scarce and comes mostly from energy-intensive seawater desalination: one more reason to cool in a closed loop, without consuming any.
