REGIONS · BAHRAIN

AI campuses designed for Bahrain.

A Gulf archipelago, Bahrain has very hot, humid summers, sea air and the dust of the shamal. Its cloud computing law makes it a case apart for data sovereignty.

Energy

Electricity comes almost entirely from natural gas; the grid is linked to the Gulf interconnection and solar is starting.

Design levers

  • Direct-to-chip liquid cooling
  • Closed-loop dry coolers sized for extreme heat
  • Reinforced filtration against dust and salt air

A qualitative reading, to be refined site by site. Sovereignty and sustainability

CONTEXT

What frames a campus here.

  • National strategy

Economic Vision 2030, a Cloud First Policy and a national policy for the use of artificial intelligence steer the Kingdom’s digital development.

  • Data and sovereignty

The Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018) frames transfers. Legislative Decree No. 56 of 2018 provides that data of foreign customers hosted in designated data centres remains subject to the law of their home country.

  • Water

A small island state with limited natural resources, Bahrain meets its needs through desalination. Our campuses cool with zero water consumption.
