REGIONS · EGYPT

AI campuses designed for Egypt.

From Cairo, between the desert and the Nile Valley, to Alexandria on the Mediterranean and the shores of the Red Sea, Egypt combines dry heat inland, more humid coasts and, in spring, the sand-laden winds of the khamsin. The country is also a crossroads of submarine cables between Europe, Asia and Africa.

Energy

Natural gas dominates power generation; wind in the Gulf of Suez and solar, with the Benban park, are growing, and the El Dabaa nuclear plant is under construction. In 2023 and 2024, gas shortages forced rolling power cuts.

Design levers

  • On-site generation and storage, to ride through grid power cuts
  • Filtration against sand and dust storms
  • Closed loop, with no water evaporation

A qualitative reading, to be refined site by site. Sovereignty and sustainability

CONTEXT

What frames a campus here.

  • National strategy

Egypt Vision 2030 and the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, whose second edition covers 2025–2030, set the course; the strategy is led by the National Council for Artificial Intelligence and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

  • Data and sovereignty

Law No. 151 of 2020 protects personal data; its executive regulations, issued in November 2025, set out the licences and the transfers abroad, which require the approval of the Personal Data Protection Center. A campus in the country keeps data under Egyptian jurisdiction.

  • Water

Egypt draws almost all its fresh water from the Nile, and its resources per person are below the United Nations water scarcity threshold; desalination is expanding along the coasts. Our campuses cool in a closed loop, with zero water consumption.
